Why Freemasonry? Why now?

Be sure not to miss this column written by a newly-initiated Entered Apprentice of Mt. Hood Lodge #32 in Vancouver, Washington. This was sent to us by Brother Cliff Hathaway, a member of Mt. Hood Lodge, and the father of our own newly-raised Brother, Michael Hathaway.

sign of the times

If you haven’t been out to Lodge yet, then chances are you haven’t seen our new sign and flag pole. There’s really not much else to say about it here, other than it’s wonderful, and we think it better announces and portrays our Masonic presence in Avon Lake.

You can get another look at it over on the Lodge history page, too (all the way at the bottom, where we show the Lodge today).

Please—stop by and tell us what you think! It looks like we’re in for a very busy year, and we’d love to see you.

WB Ken Killinger honoured
filed under  at 8:02 am

Congratulations are extended to our Lodge secretary, WB Kenyon Killinger, REC, who was made a Knight of the York Cross of Honour on March 12 at a ceremony in Xenia, Ohio. This certainly is a well-deserved distinction for his many years in service to Freemasonry, and we are even more proud now than we were before to be able to call him a member of Mid-Century Lodge. Come out to a meeting and shake his hand in person—we can guarantee he’ll be there!
