WB Stephen Behm and Anthony Fox
This year’s recipient of the Mid-Century Lodge $500 scholarship, Avon Lake High Scool graduate Anthony Fox, received his check at the Lodge on June 28. This is the fifth such award made by Mid-Century in as many years, bringing the total awarded to $2,500.

Mr. Fox will be attending Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA in the fall, where he plans to major in their Research Intelligence Analyst Program. His ultimate goal is to become an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. A 2004 honors graduate from Avon Lake High School, Mr. Fox was active in baseball, basketball, the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Outside of school, he was involved in several youth activities, serving as advisor for Avon Lake Youth Basketball and Baseball camps, referee for city league basketball and umpire for the Avon Lake Youth Baseball Federation.

We heartily congratulate Anthony and wish him the best of luck in his future!

RWB Runion
Mid-Century Lodge gave out several awards on June 1. Most Notable among them was the election of RWB Ronald Runion to honorary membership. RWB Runion has been a strong supporter of our Lodge for many years and also has been recently elected TPM of the Valley of Cleveland. It is indeed an honor for the Lodge to have him call Mid-Century his “second home.”

Also awarded that night were two awards for “unwavering service” to the Lodge. Brother Hal Loebick and WB George Fehlner each received this award for the unparalleled hours they spend ensuring that the Lodge runs smoothly, from preparing for dinners and Degreework, to keeping the building in tip-top shape. Next time you see them, be sure to thank them for their continued hard work.

Finally, our current Senior Deacon, Brother David Powers, received his lecture bars for the EA and MM degrees, in recognition of the fine job he did at our last two inspections. Of course, WB Bo Davis, who presented the bars, was quick to point out that Bro. Powers is only missing the FC lecture, and that just happens to be our Inspection degree in 2005…
